Torre (Tower)

Torre: This word means a tower. The tower in most villages served as a watch post, now they serve as a great cardio workout. The tower of Siena or the “Mangia Tower” was built in the medieval times. Siena's Mangia Tower is the second highest medieval bell tower in Italy. You can walk up the tower's 505 steps for some great views of Siena. Mangia Tower is on Siena's main square, Piazza del Campo. This is a claustrophobic climb but worth the 10 Euro and losing weight of the pasta you just ate for lunch.
